UV-8701E

UV cure cationic epoxy, thixotropic

Thixotropic UV epoxy with magenta-to-clear cure indicator

UV-8701E is a thixotropic light cure epoxy that bonds well to a wide range of substrates including engineered plastics such as Ultem, Lexan, and ABS. Magenta when uncured, translucent when cured, providing a built-in cure indicator. Cures under UV (315 to 365 nm) and 405 nm blue light.

In plain English

UV-8701E is a thixotropic epoxy with bead control and a magenta-to-clear cure indicator for visual confirmation.

Product fit

Why buyers choose this grade

Easy to see during process setup

The material starts magenta and turns translucent after cure, which makes visual confirmation much easier.

More shape control

Its thixotropic profile gives better bead definition than general-purpose flow grades.

High-temperature capability

It keeps the same -55°C to 250°C operating window as the broader high-temperature rigid grades.

Good fit for

  • Beads, fillets, and vertical surfaces where a low-viscosity adhesive would slump
  • Engineered plastics such as Ultem, Lexan, and ABS along with glass, ceramic, and metal
  • Assemblies where a magenta-to-clear cure indicator helps shop-floor confidence

Things to confirm first

  • It still needs direct light access to the bond area; there is no shadow-cure thermal backup in this grade.
  • If visual appearance must stay water-clear, choose a clear optical grade instead of the magenta indicator system.
